Cimarron Early College High School was created to ensure that every student is provided a unique education experience with the common goal of earning a high school diploma as well as an associate’s degree, and/or industrial credentials simultaneously. CECHS has partnered with ENMU-Ruidoso, Luna Community College, and Mesalands Community College to provide students with the necessary skills to attend an institution of higher learning and/or obtain the training needed to obtain workforce-recognized credentials tailored to their specific career and educational goals.
Current on-site ENMU dual credit courses include English Composition 1, English Composition 2, Broadcasting, Interpersonal Communications, Public Speaking, Introduction to Animal Science, and Introduction to Plant Science. With the recent addition of partnering with the ENMU-Ruidoso campus, CHS also offers on-site dual-credit courses and certifications taught by adjunct faculty in our CTE programs such as welding, graphic design, and woodworking. Industry-specific certifications will include certifications in welding, woodworking, and all Adobe graphics platforms such as Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Animate, Dream Weaver, Illustrator, and InDesign. CECHS students also currently have the opportunity to obtain their Wind Turbine Technician certification through Mesalands Community College as well as classes to obtain their Federal Aviation Administration Remote Pilot License (small, unmanned aircraft system) which gives them the skills to pursue employment in fields utilizing drones. CECHS also offers classes to obtain Wildland Fireman certification credentials.
